Wedding Timeline
Hark! Attend ye, devout and faithful souls! Be it known that on the Twenty-Second day of May, in the Year of Our Lord 2026, a Solemn Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration shall be held. Inquire with the bride and groom for further information.
We are called to gather in quiet awe before the True Presence of Our Lord God, Jesus Christ, in the Most Blessed Sacrament enthroned upon the Altar, offering this sacrifice of silent, profound prayer to implore boundless mercy and divine favor upon the two souls entering the Holy Estate of Matrimony on the following day, seeking to sanctify their covenant, strengthen their resolve and virtue, and bless the hearth and home they shall establish, that it may be a bastion of Christian faith and charity. All are most earnestly encouraged to attend this spiritual arming. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
The Nuptial Mass shall commence at Ten Thirty in the morning on the Twenty-third Day of May, in the year of our Lord 2026, within the hallowed walls of Saint Stephen Catholic Church, a bastion of the Traditional Latin Mass, located at 1112 SE 41st Ave, Portland, OR 97214.
* Kindly Note: We bid ye arrive early to be seated, for our vows begin the ceremony without delay. While in the church please honor the sanctity of the Mass with prayerful silence; let our cheers wait for the feast! For those new to the ancient customs of the latin Mass, a guide awaits your arrival:
Upon the conclusion of the solemn devotions, you are bid to join the wedding party for a Grand Reception. The feast shall be held in Carmody Hall, upon the church grounds. There shall be a sumptuous feast, games, and abundant opportunity for conviviality and good cheer! All are welcome, including children of all ages!
Participate in fun games like photography bingo, trivia, and leave some words of wisdom at the signing table.
The hour draws near for the newly wedded Bride and Groom to commence their journey! The merriment shall conclude, and the new couple will make their Grand Departure around 3:30 p.m. We pray a swift and joyous passage for them as they leave our company to begin their new life. Thank ye, noble guests, for gracing this day with your presence and cheer!
If this ancient Rite is new to you, Latin-to-English booklets will be found in the back of the church for those who wish to follow the prayers. Know, however, that your simple and prayerful presence is the greatest gift, and there is no need to understand or follow every moment.
We implore all esteemed guests to honor the sanctity of the Mass by observing reverent silence whilst within the Church nave. Thus, we ask that all chatter and applause be reserved for the feast and merry-making to follow. The Side Chapel (front right) is provided as a cry room should your youngest squires require retreat.
We humbly request that all guests observe the time-honored custom of modest dress, donning your Sunday Best apparel. Ladies are encouraged to wear a veil, though not required.
For Holy Communion: We gently remind those faithful Catholics who are prepared to receive the Most Holy Eucharist that the sacred Host is received solely kneeling and upon the tongue. All others are most kindly asked to remain prayerfully in their pews.
